    How do I fix my computer being stuck on a black screen with only the cursor visible?


    My laptop has a broken screen, so I use my TV as a monitor via HDMI cord. I moved houses recently so my laptop had to go through a short time of being completely unplugged. The owner of it before me made it completely reliant on its charger so it almost immediately dies without it. I have allowed it to recharge but no matter what I do, when I boot it up and connect it to my TV, all I see is a black screen with my cursor on it.I can move it around but it never changes to the login screen. Before moving houses, my laptop was on Windows 10. I'm hoping it didn't update on its own when I was rechar

    Black screen with cursor


    Sign in screen is always visible on boot up (standard boot or safe mode). Safe mode scrolls (visible). All previous problems and attempted fixes happen (black screen with cursor) after signing in with password.
