Windows 10: How do I fix my File explorer and recycle bin?

Earlier in the day, my computer was working just fine and now whenever I try to delete a file from my recycling bin it freezes up, and when I try to open any program through my file Explorer, It freezes completely and I have to use the task manager in order to restart it.

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

The $Recycle.Bin folder you see is a hidden protected OS (system) folder as dalchina posted. It's basically the Recycle Bin cache.

Each drive will have its own $Recycle.Bin folder (cache).

You don't want to delete this folder unless the Recycle Bin was corrupted. Even then, it will automatically be recreated afterwards.

To remove it, you would just need to check Hide protected operating system files again like in step 6 of option 1 below.

My files are not going in Recycle Bin

This problem is fixed now.

I don't exactly know the solution but I used two Tune-up and Utility
apps,

• CCleaner
• IOBit's Advance System Care 10

Just scanned for problems and junk and applied the suggested fixes. After that the problem is gone.
