Windows 10: How do I fix my wifi driver? IntelR Wi-fi 6 AX201 160MHz Code 10 error

I know very very little about computers, so every online guide I find sounds like gibberish and I’m too scared to do anything because I’m worried I might further mess up my computer. I barely know what a driver is, but I managed to find my way to the “Device Manager” page to see that the error is “the device cannot start code 10 {operation failed} the requested operation was unsuccessful.”I accidentally dropped my phone on my laptop keyboard from a height of about 4 inches, and now my wifi has completely stopped working and I have no idea what to do! Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160Mhz with error code 10 issue

I have a problem with connecting to Wi-Fi, I check the Device Manager the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160Mhz shows an error code

This device cannot start. (Code 10)



{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I have uninstalled the drive and reinstalled it, I was able to reconnect back to WIFI once after reinstalling the driver, but the error code came back, and I have been able to connect back to Wi-Fi.

Please advise what to do in this case.

Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160 MHz showing code 10

There were several repetitive errors in the Event Logs concerning the adapter such as:

NDIS - Miniport Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz, {86d0abcb-964d-48ec-b0f3-b794d8c693ca}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has detected an internal error

Netwtw10 - Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly.

Netwtw10 - Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : The network adapter has returned an invalid value to the driver.

Netwtw10 - Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.

It does look like a hardware issue but some of the errors point to a driver issue.

Can you try the following:

Shut down the laptop and unplug it and take out the battery. Then hold down the power button for 60 seconds.

Plug back in and start the laptop.

That may reset the wireless.
