  1. How do I fix the 10 device limit?

I got the 10 device limit error after I bought an app from the Microsoft store. Then I went in and removed all the old devices so I am now down to 4 devices. Why can I still not install the software I paid for?

    :)

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

  3. Windows 10 USB Device Limit?

Thanks for your suggestions so far.
I ran USBDeview again and sorted by "power" usage, and it looks like the 3x 5-bay HDD enclosures are not drawing any power at all and the only things that is drawing power are the keyboard, mouse and a little bit of the UPS. I don't think this is enough power draw to cause an issue or is it?

    Windows 10 USB Device Limit?

My understanding is that "Unknown device" indicates that the device or its drivers are not available or installed. Hence why I suggested the registry clear-out using USBDeview.

Like most standard USB keyboards and mice, a USB flash drive needs minimal power (0-100 mA, unlike - say - a USB-powered 2.5" HDD which usually draws 500 mA) and its driver is built-in. If sometimes it works (after fiddling around removing other USB devices) then it's had a successful enumeration (which, amongst other things writes the info about which driver to use to the registry).

So, if USB devices (self-powered and mains-powered) enumerate correctly then I can't think of any other reason for there to be an issue unless it's your mainboard not able to supply sufficient power to the USB subsystem.

It's easier to show you with a screenshot of my PC with multiple USB mass storage devices attached.

Just look at the drive letters.

    • The first 2 devices in the list (H: and GHow do I fix the 10 device limit? :) are mains-powered external 3.5" drives drawing 0 mA each.
    • The 3rd and 4th devices (J: and IHow do I fix the 10 device limit? :) are both USB flash drives... but one draws 0 mA whilst the other draws 100 mA.
    • The 5th mass storage device (a USB-powered 2.5" HDD drawing 500 mA) shows no drive letter... yet on the right you can see the 'Safely Eject' list shows the 'My Passport' device as K:. Why no drive letter showing in USBDeview (despite multiple refreshes)? It's because it was the last mass storage device I attached... and I believe the USB subsystem has run out of power to work 100% properly. Why?
    • Well have a look at the last mass storage device (FHow do I fix the 10 device limit? :). It's drawing 896 mA... even though it's a mains-powered external USB caddy with a 3.5" drive in it.

This is why I suspect it's power draw on your PC's USB sub-system.

    Try this check:

    1. Run USBView again (using Run as administrator), right-click on a column heading and select Choose columns.
    2. Enable the Power column then drag the column to the left to make it easier to view.
    3. Count up the power draw values of all connected devices (particularly your 3 JBOD 5-hdd enclosures) then check the mainboard specs.

(This might be difficult... I couldn't find the info on the Gigabyte website... so you may need to ask on a Gigabyte support forum.)

    Hope this helps...
