Windows 10: How do I fix the "Sorry, we're having a hard time determining if this PC can run Windows...

I have restarted my computer countless times and it won't fix! I don't know why but it just won't go away! Also, for another system, can I bypass the Windows 11 system requirements? The requirements need to be lowered. I have an RX 570 4GB GPU, an Intel i7 3600, 16 GB RAM, 1.2 TPM Can I upgrade TPM? And no Secure boot. Can I enable secure boot?

Any Clues on "Sorry we are having trouble determining if your PC can run Windows 10"

Installing Win 10 as an upgrade to Win 7 from the Media Creation Tool the setup downloads and runs but then stops with this error, "Sorry we are having trouble determining if your PC can run Windows 10, Please close setup and try again."

Have tried multiple times to no avail.

Thank you Mr. Carmack for all your help in trying to solve this error. I was able to resolve this error with the following steps:

First I went to C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log which shows all errors when trying to update/install windows on your computer. (You may have to enable hidden folders)

Next, I searched up the log error (i.e. 0xc000024) and I found that it had to do with the registry key “PortableOperatingSystem”. [I suggest that you check that your error is the same one as I had before you follow the next steps and if it is different, try researching what other people did to resolve your error]

Finally, I went to the registry editor and went to this path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control (click "control")

If your PortableOperatingSystem is a QWORD key and you have the error “Sorry, we're having trouble determining if your PC can run Windows 11. Please close Setup and try again.” when running the Windows 11 ISO setup.exe, then you probably have the same error as I did.

To fix it: delete the PortableOperatingSystem key by clicking it, then right-click and delete.

Then create a new DWORD key with the exact same name (PortableOperatingSystem) and set the value to “0”.

Then run the setup from the ISO file again and it should work!

sorry we're having trouble determining if your pc can run windows 10 (which it is already running)

I have received errors on Windows Update:

March 12, 2019—KB4489899 (OS Build 17763.379)

Applies to: Windows 10, version 1809Windows Server 2019, all versions

Last failed install attempt on ‎15/‎03/‎2019 - 0x800f0922

To try to solve this I downloaded and ran the MediaCreationTool1809 (I am running Windows 10 home 1809). When I ran this program it downloaded Windows 10 and then said sorry we're having trouble determining if your pc can run windows 10 (which it is already
running). It suggested trying again but I have tried twice now. I read elsewhere that this may be due to lack of space but I have 122 gigabytes available.

What can I do?

Will I get the same error if I boot the installation media from USB?

I am using a Dell XPS L107X
