Windows 10: How do I fix the sound menu when right clicked? Seems was removed in a windows update

Okay, so I recently got my PC all set up last month? now. Fresh install of Windows 10 with all the updates.

Something I noticed though is the sound icon when right clicked no longer gives me the option to go right to the sound settings. Instead the button is missing completely and I have to open sound mixer and then click system sound to get to the same menu that before would be 1 click.

Its not a huge deal, and digging into it, it seems it was changed back in June.

Is there anyway of changing it back to how it was? I constantly switch between sound channels in a day, since PC is hooked up to my TV but I have a Headset as well when gaming with friends so I need to manually change it. Having the extra 2 clicks invovled is super annoying, not the end of the world, but annoying enough for me to ask this question of any fix.

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
What do you think?

 

cant adjust sound using sound icon bottom right of screen. this happened right after updating to windows 10

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver.

Method 2.

Step 1.

I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
  to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below steps.

Step 2.

I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
  update the software.

If the above methods did not help to fix the issue, try the below method.

Method 3.

I recommend you to go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest updated sound adapter driver for Windows 10 and install the same. If the available driver is not for Windows 10 try installing the driver in compatibility
mode.

  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Add take ownership to right click menu.

I found this, A registry tweak that lets you take ownership of a file with a right click option. I find it very useful myself, hopefully some of you guys will.
