Windows 10: How do I fix the the DNS Server Not Responding Windows 10?

I can not fix the "DNS Server Not Responding" error on my personal laptop (Windows 10 [on my work laptop in order to post]).

All which have not resolved the DNS connection issue.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

Both the Update & Security and View installed update history applications are not returning a result.

The applications run indefinitely.

When attempting step 10 using the "sfc/scannow" command, The Administrator Command Prompt states "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"

 

Assuming you are on 1709 try Resetting Network in Settings.

 

Try to use Dns Lock v1.3 - pick any DNS you like, eg OpenDNS: 208.67.220.220.

But if your ISP provider or country has "locked" DNS, setting it up manually will not help.

In that case try Simple DNSCrypt, DNS requests will go via port 443, which is hard to block.

 

It's not generally a DNS fault you get the error if the connection is flaky so it can't connect are you using wireless or cable

I downloaded and ran the DNS lock and the values it uses are the same as the linked posts.

I am unable to run the Simple DNScrypt. The application file is a Visual Studio file (?). What is the file path for the application that is supposed to run?

 

Samuria, I have tried Wi-Fi and USB cable to my mobile phone.

The Wi-Fi works on my other laptop and mobile phone (service provider data) so I can't determine why the DNS error keeps coming up.

When I am not attempting to access the internet the icon shows it is connected.

When I try to use the internet the icon shows a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark.

 

Download .msi (Installer) - x86 or x64 depending on your Windows version.

There is no Download.msi in the DNSx64 or DNSx86 files downloaded.

Only dnscrypt-proxy (application file type).
When I attempt to execute that application file, a cmd window quickly opens then closes. Even when I run with administrative permission.
