Windows 10: How do I fix this network connection issue?

Upon turning on my HP envy laptop, I wasn't given the option to connect to the internet at all. The button had completely disappeared and I couldn't do anything. I've restarted my pc about 5 times and nothing has fixed it.It's very unlikely to be related but I happened to spill some water on it earlier, so it could somehow maybe be related to water damage.On the 'Get Help' screen that has the 'Lets gelp you get connected' thingy, it says that I'm connected using a virtual network adapter that it can't test. I've had this computer since 2022 and this has never happened before.

Issues with network adapters

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter when you switch from WiFi to Ethernet connection. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems including clearing the network cache to obtain a new
IP from the new network. Kindly follow the steps below:

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
  Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

We recommend that you try the steps on the Update the network adapter driver,
