    How Do I Fix Window Update Error 80071A90?


    I been try multiple method of fixing this error over the last weeks. None of them worked. Mine is Window 7 SP1. Can anyone help with this?

    update error for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 8.1 for x64 (KB4486105) - Error Code 80071A90

    Look, @lm300, the error code 80071A90 displays that either your windows doesn't support it (e.g. you have the wrong version of windows, you have 32- bit instead of 64- bit etc.) or you have already installed it, or that the installation files are corrupted.

    You may do the following steps

    • go to settings -> pc and devices and then on about
    • now look whether you have 64 or 32 bit of windows
    • if you have 32 bit, you need to download 32 bit version of .NET framework from the official website
    • if you have 64 bit then follow next
    • go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework
    • if you find the folder ".NET framework is there, then no problem, continue
    • if it is not installed, remove everything associated with .NET framework, and go to .NET | Build. Test. Deploy. and download it again

    Check the date on the one you thought it was. Nov 4 2015 <-That's not June

    The rollup does contain the fix.

    How Do I Fix Window Update Error 80071A90?

    FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

    They made it part of the WU client then, or it's two different things doing the same. Too bad you can't download it separately.
