Windows 10: How do i fix windows does not recognize my microphone that is connected through jack

Windows does not recognize my headset microphone but the audio still works except the microphone, my headset mic works on other computers except on this device there may be a problem with my audio driver my audio driver is realtek zoom, discord, messenger, etc. says they cant hear my microphone.

Headphone Jack does not recognize headset microphone

Hello,

Since a couple days the 3.5mm headphone jack of my computer does not recognize my headset microphone. When its plugged in the audio output works, but it says there is no microphone connected. It does recognize the headphones (audio output).

I already tried all of the following troubleshooting tips:

• The headset works on other devices (Laptop with Windows 11, PlayStation)
  
• Adjusting privacy settings.
  
• Enabling microphone in device manager (however this is not possible because it says its not connected)
  
• Reinstalling the device in control panel.
  
• Updating drives, windows etc.
  
• Other headsets also have the same problem on that port.
  

 

Headphone Jack Splitter Fix?

Hi,

Can you please is the Microphone is listed in the device manager after you connected to jack or not.

Step 1:

Go to Device Manager & expand Audio Inputs and Outputs

Step 2:

If Microphone is listed Select Microphone and right-click then select Enable Device

Let me know the status after performing the above.

Windows does not recognize connected external professional microphone, headset microphone

I have an issue with my external microphones. While connecting a microphone with a built in microphone it seems to work but if i try to connect one that has separate audio/mic jacks or just a professional microphone the computer does not recognize my them.
Have checked all audio settings, reinstalled my drivers. Another thing that I should mention is that my realtek drivers does not have an option to choose what jack I have connected to my 3.5 mm jack.
