Windows 10: How do I fix "Windows Installer Not Responding"?

I am trying install the program Graph Pad Prism on my new Windows computer. The file will download, but when I click "open file," I get the small window that says, "preparing to install," and then it freezes with the message on the top of the window, "not responding." This is always as far as I get when trying to install the program. I then have to restart my computer for the window to go away. I have tried this at least 15 times by now and the same thing always happens. I'm not sure if the model of the computer matters, but it is an Acer, Intel Core, I7. There is also plenty of space left on

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
