  1. How do I fix Windows thinking I don't own a key since I changed motherboards?

I bought a Windows license years ago, and have been running Windows 10 ever since I installed it with my USB. However, I recently upgraded my motherboard. Right after I put the new motherboard in, I was prompted for the free upgrade to Windows 11. Now I have Windows 11, except now I'm getting the message that I need to activate Windows. None of the troubleshooters or activation settings will let me activate Windows because it thinks I already have Windows activated on another device Error code: 0xC004C008. This is where my motherboard upgrade comes in. I believe Windows ties your Windows act

    :)

  3. Choice of memory and motherboard... a bit stuck...

No one who got some suggestions on this one, huh?

I've found out that the Asus M3A78-T needs to be flashed, so then that motherboard is excluded from my list. Which motherboard and memory should I then go for? Any suggestions?

How do I fix Windows thinking I don't own a key since I changed motherboards?

Windows 10 License (after motherboard change)

    Hi Harsh,

Please be informed that your copy of Windows 10 should get activated automatically after changing the motherboard (once you enter the linked Microsoft Account details). But if you face any issues,
I suggest you to go through Phone activation to activate your Windows 10 copy.

To run Phone activation please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows + R key.

    • Type slui 4 and hit enter.

    • Select the Country or
      Region.

    • Follow the on screen instructions.

Hope this helps. Please respond if you have any further related query.

    Thank you.
