Windows 10: How do I force the Copilot key to become a different, singular button?

Hello,I've tried to use the PowerToys Keyboard Manager to attempt rebinding the key to a different button like Right Ctrl, but because I use this button as a shortcut, some applications like Discord is unable to recognize the hotkey as Right Ctrl because the keyboard is sending Windows+Shift+F23, THEN Right Ctrl.I am looking for a solution that forcefully changes the Copilot key to anything else but it's assigned shortcut. I'd even accept it being as a singular button accessing F13-F23, as long as I am able to dictate it as a singular key.Also, Microsoft. You were *THIS* close to letting users

I apologize for the late response and regret to hear that the Copilot button is still unresponsive. Please try the steps below:

- Press Windows key + R to open the Run box.

- Enter microsoft-edge://?ux=copilot&tcp=1&source=taskbar and press Enter to open the Copilot pane.

- If the Copilot pane opens, click the Copilot button to check functionality.

- If Copilot doesn't open, reset Microsoft Edge settings:

a. Open Edge, click three dots in the top right.

b. Go to Settings and click Reset Settings.

- Restart your computer and test if the Copilot button works as expected.

Why isn’t copilot button working

I've tried everything you suggested but the Copilot button is still not responding. This issue started to occur after I installed the update Build 23601 and opened and closed the copilot pane a few times. (After installing the update Copilot is working but after using copilot a few times it stopped opening.) Also, there is no Copilot task in the task manager, just a "Microsoft Edge Copilot pane renderer." I closed that task, and after clicking on the Copilot button again, the task does not reappear.

 

None of the methods to disable Copilot work, can't even hide it

Please post screenshots of every step of merging the reg file as per Add or Remove Copilot Button on Taskbar in Windows 10 Option 2, step 3. Do you have UAC turned off, perhaps? Are you running as admin or as a standard user? Please also post a screenshot of the relevant registry key and value before and after attempting to merge the reg file. Of course, you could also edit the registry directly if for some reason merging doesn't set the value correctly.
