When I tryto gain access to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib, I always receive an error saying that, "Registry could not set owner or security on the key currently selected, or its subkeys." How do I gain access to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib and its subkeys?

i found a forum thread on here about how to remove unwanted hacky organisations of your pc

it told me to run a list of commands

all went fine except for this one:

"HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"

i was told that 'access was denied' despite me being the admin

the thread did specify to ignore any error messages and just type in the next command

but i couldnt help get a little concerend

if i am the admin of my pc why would my access to anything be denied?

yes i was running it as admin
