Windows 10: How do I gain full write permissions on my PC?

I'm trying to install a package from Github directly into my C:/ drive from the command line. But when I run the command, I receive an error, permission denied. I realize this is because my account is not currently set to full permissions. How do I gain full write permissions over the C:/ drive so I can install packages from the command line?Also, not sure if this matters, but under C:/ 'advanced security properties' my user account shows as "Account Unknown.' Is this normal?I hope I picked the right 'topic category' for this.Thanks

If you don’t have permission for any folder follow the below steps to give permissions:

Let’s give permission to the folder and check if that helps. Follow these steps to give permissions to the drive.

• Right-click on the folder which you’re unable to access and select Properties.
• Click on ‘Security’ tab and under ‘Group or user names’ click on ‘Edit’.
• Click on ‘Add’ and type ‘everyone’.
• Click on ‘Check names’ and then click ‘OK’.
• Select ‘everyone’ and under ‘Allow’ select
  ‘Full control’ and click on ‘Apply’ and Click ‘Ok’.

how do network user gain write permission?

Thanks for replying. I failed to find the NTFS info, and the other info is the same on both - R/W is checked and happy. Network discovery is on and file sharing on. One PC is 10 pro (22h2 version) and one is home. The home PC has R/W working but the pro pc does not. So from the pro PC I have read only working, but home PC can delete on the pro PC. Sharing is enabled for everyone, system, and administrators with R/W permission configured on both.
