    i bought a new computer and had no issues until today. the laptop would not restart i powered off the laptop powered the laptop back on + held the esc key for 5 seckeyboard stayed lit screen blank for 6 sec then restartedhigh lighted in green a notice read Windows Boot Manager Micron_2450_MTFDKBA1T0TFKi pressed enter i was informed i was missingFile:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCDStatus: 0xc000000f

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
