    How do I get Dell Webcam Central back after Win 10 repair reinstall


    I've already been to the Dell articles, but need to double-check that this is going to work. I did a repair reinstall of Win 10 with in-place upgrade, keeping Windows.old. No problems. I need to reinstall the Dell Webcam Central software. Instructions for Windows 10 are to go to device manager and uninstall Integrated Webcam. Once I restart, Windows should install drivers. However, I also read that webcam central doesn't work with Windows 10, and use Skype instead. Before I did the repair reinstall my webcam worked fine with Dell Webcam Central with Windows 10.

    I need a confirmation this is how it will go before I go uninstalling the Integrated Webcam - don't want to cause any more problems for myself.

    Windows 10 doesn't recognize Dell Webcam

    Does Dell offer webcam driver downloads for your model PC (even drivers that
    say they are for older versions of Windows)? I see you already tried reinstalling the "Dell Webcam Central", is that their only offering, or do they offer a plain driver download?

    Integrated Webcam on Dell XPS 13" Stopped Working After Upgrade

    Hi,

    I have an older desktop Dell XPS and I had the same problem with monitor SP2309W with integrated web camera. Upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 had a few hardware issues mostly with dtivers.

    This is what worked for me, and if you wish to give it a try feel free to do so on your own risk.

    - You should download Dell Webcam Central and put it on your desktop for your convenience

    Direct Download Link:

    - Un-Install the software Dell Webcam Central

    - go to Device Manager / Imaging Devices Monitor Web Cam where you can check the status. Un-install the driver. Try to disable it if it doesn't work.

    - Reboot in the safe mode with networking

    - Install Dell Webcam Central ( choose custom install without avatar)

    - Reboot ( normal)

    - Check again device manager and enable driver if it's disabled.

    - Click on update driver ( this should install digitally signed driver)

    - Start Win 10 - Camera app.. If it's working you can check other programs like Skype etc....
