Windows 10: How do I get files off the cloud and back on my computer

I do not want files in the cloud. I need to know how to turn on or turn off the cloud and also load from the cloud to my computer.

My query is though, how do I "set OneDrive to Sync those user library folders to the Cloud", as I cannot see how to do this?

When completed, will this action result in fully automatic updates, or is it a single 'pull through' action, that will need regular manual such actions at frequent intervals for each file, to ensure that both
sets of files are in synch?

My files are generally saved locally to my PC, with some saved to OneDrive, but updates to files in one location do not sync automatically to the other location!

I have opened OneDrive, and looked through the Settings, but can't make out how to establish this routine!

Can you possibly outline the detailed steps to be taken, to achieve your suggestion, as I am 74 years young, and whilst reasonably capable, I am not a 'techie' by any stretch of the imagination?

Ok then, let's agree that the title doesn't necessarily fit the question actually posed. I can buy that.

 

transfer files between computers on a home network

I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

or a link to a reference.

I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
of shared files and folders.

Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?
