    PC Build Steps

    Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

    netbook resolution

    Judging by the looks of the netbook I'm going to assume it has an Intel "graphics card", and if my memory doesn't fail me, I recall seeing somewhere on the internetz that you can "virtually" use a higher resolution on these kind of Intel Atom based netbooks.

    I'm gonna see if I can find it again, brb.

    EDIT: Here it is, now you can only use this on Windows 7, AFAIK, and since the actual screen physical resolution can't be changed the image is scaled down, so everything will look smaller:
    • Press Windows+R, write regedit and press OK;
    • Edit -> Find -> Display1_DownScalingSupported;
    • For all the entries found change their value from 0 to 1;
    • Press F3 and go to the previous step until no more entries are found;
    • Reboot;
    Now some new, yet limited, resolutions should be available. Enjoy.

    It all depends on the rest of your systems. List system specs, although eidairaman's suggestion will work too.
