Windows 10: How do I get into my laptop 'preparing automatic repair'.

Stop code: BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFOMy laptop is freezing on the loading screen with 'preparing automatic repair' and I cannot get into it. All I can do is restart the laptop, and it gives me the stop code listed above. It then returns to the 'preparing automatic repair' screen and nothing happens.

Preparing Automatic Repair

My son's Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL has been stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair" for over a week now. I can't followed any steps listed for remedying it because the computer doesn't respond to any instructions, like holding F8 or even booting from a USB, at all. Has anyone ideas or it's time to discard this 5-year old laptop?

I updated my Toshiba Satellite laptop including the Microsoft Edge Update for Windows 10. I have the "Preparing Automatic Repair" problem.

The "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen is flashing.

I do not want to lose any of the data that I have on the laptop by restoring and reinstalling Windows 10. The laptop initially came with a Windows 7 operating system. Then, it was upgraded to Windows 8 and then Windows 10.

Can you recommend the steps to take for this specific laptop?
