    How do i get my icons to stay in the same place when undocking my surface book?


    I own a surface book with a resolution of 3000x2000 and i frequently dock and undock it from a 1920x1080 monitor. The problem is that i organize my icons on my monitor, and when i unplug my laptop it messes up the icons. Same thing when i arrange them on the laptop, it messes up the monitor. Is there any way i can save the locations of the icons? I have auto arrange icons off already.

    "Surface Detach" Icon Removal on Surface Book Taskbar

    Hi,

    As per the description I understand that you are trying to remove the Surface detach icon from the Taskbar on your Surface device, we will help you with this issue.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable it and check if it helps.

    You will have to disable the Surface DTX. Follow:

    • Press and hold (or right-click) the taskbar and select Task Manager.
    • In Task Manager, select the Startup tab.
    • Check if the Surface DTX status is shown as Disabled.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • Go to Start

      Power > Restart to restart your Surface Book.

    Thanks. Is this the only thing Surface DTX does? Will it disable more than just undock icon?
