Windows 10: How do I get my old Windows Live account moved to my new Windows account I set up in...

I am way behind the curve in transitioning to Windows 10 and I am finding a huge learning curve in just getting the OS installed and getting my folders and accounts set up the way I want them.

In this transition I am also starting to use a new email because the one I currently have will no longer be available in a few months so it is forcing me to do a lot of changes so I started using this new email when installing a registering Windows 10.

Also when installing Windows 10 it somehow assigned a “User Name” which is the first 5 letters in my new email address and now I can’t change that. Very frustrating but I guess I will have to live with it.


Now here are the problems.


Problem 1:


When I was running Windows 7 I had a Windows Live account that I used for MSDN and that account is associated with my old email account. But I have used a new email account with this new Windows Account that was set up when I installed Windows 10. I need to know how I can transition my old Windows Live account into this new account so that I can retain my content and Alias Display Name in MSDN.


So does anyone know how I transition that old account into my new Windows account?





Problem 2:


Pretty much the same as #1 but I also have a Microsoft Community account with my name as the Alias and my old email account. How do I get to reuse my name with my new Windows account that has my old email account and transition that to my new email?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

Create a new account first....then delete the old account.
