Windows 10: how do i get my original downloads folder to be just that?

highlighting key features of the storybackstory: i was tidying my files and i wanted to feed my downloads into a new folder. the new folder disappeared. i'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but yea. after the new folder disapered i decied i no longer wanted to use that new folder for my downloads. so i went properties>location>move>C:\Users\[insert number]\Downloads and it didnt work. instead i got a notif that i cant "redirect a child into a parent" which yes, makes sense irl but i dont see whats going wrong on my laptop :. after a couple failed tries, i ended up with only o

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

 

Origin will not load

1. Which was the update that was installed prior to this issue?
   
2. What is the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer

3. Do you get any error message while launching the Origin application?
   
4. What was the error message that you got while reinstalling the Origin application?
   
5. Are you facing this issue with any other applications?
   

Meanwhile, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you are able to launch Origin application.

1. Follow the steps mentioned in Uninstalling Origin Application
   and completely uninstall Origin from your computer.
   
2. Then, put your computer in a Clean Boot State
   and delete the folders from the following locations.
   

• Note: A Clean Boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. Your computer may temporarily lose
  some functionality while in a clean boot environment, however, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after you have finished your troubleshooting.
  

• C:\ProgramData\Origin\
  
• C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Origin\
  
• C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Origin\
  
• C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License\
  

1. Then, Download Origin and install it with the computer being in a Clean Boot
   State.
   
2. Then, place the computer to normal boot by going to
   Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting section in the Clean Boot link and check if you are able to launch the Origin application.
