    How do I get my SATA HDD to work normally?


    I need help to access my SATA Hard disk which is listed as Disk 1. The laptop seems to be reading the disk but it does not show up under the 'Volume' tab of the disk management but it is listed as Disk 1 online at the bottom. The laptop internal hard disk is listed as Disk 0.I have tried to upload the image but I'm not sure if you can see it.I cannot assign a Drive letter as there is no such option. When I right-clicked on Disk 1, it shows the only option 'Convert to Dynamic Disk'. The others being properties and help.I need help to access the hard disk.

    SATA internal HDD and external SATA HDD

    I have a SATA internal HDD that supposed to be my main operational disk but I bought a "lay flat docking station" for Another SATA internal HDD that I cloned from my internal drive on my tower. But now I look at the properties on both drives and they both
    say they are online. Is it bad to have them working that way because I don't know what drive is working at any given time? I'm assuming I need to go into the BIOS and set it to which drive I want?

    Just occurred to me. Could it be that the primary boot drive is the Linux SSD. I've got a feeling this could

    be the problem. I'm not sure how to configure Windows 10 to boot from the SATA HDD. I will try reinstalling the drivers and look into the BIOS but would appreciate your take on my suggestion.

    SATA HDD recognised as SSD

    Hi. My SATA HDD is recognised as a SSD and Windows 10 will not perform defragmentation on it as a result; which I appreciate. I've tried many of the prescribed procedures mentioned on forums but to no effect. I'm pretty convinced that the problem lies
    in the fact I have installed a SSD in my machine. Windows is recognising the correct size of my SATA HDD however and the SSD isn't showing up quite rightly as its Linux formatted. Using a third party defragmentation program exactly the same problem occurs,
    however I was able to defragment my C drive using it as it just warned against it and didn't prohibit me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
