Windows 10: How do I get my search history on Edge mobile to not show up on my desktop task view?

I use Microsoft Edge as my default browser on my phone. So whenever I open a link on Instagram or Reddit, it doesn't necessarily open that link in the browser app itself, but it uses the browser nontheless.

This has become a bit of a problem on my work computer, as I frequently use the task view feature to open previously opened documents and spreadsheets, only except alongside those documents and spreadsheets there are PornHub links and other things that I would much prefer not to be shown on my work computer. Those links that I open up on Reddit add to my search history and for some reason they appear in my desktop computer's task view, even though I've never opened them on my desktop computer.

I know that I can constantly clear my history and clear my task view, but I fear for the day I instinctively click on a spreadsheet and accidentally open PornHub at work. How can I prevent this from happening?

After "October Update" Edge doesn't save browsing history, Task View doesn't remember anything

When I turned on the computer this morning, Edge and Task View showed history. They were keeping them, in both senses - remembering them, but not sharing them with me.

Therefore I have not tried the steps listed above, but I'll keep the link in case the problem reappears. Thanks.

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?


Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?
