Windows 10: How do I get my sound back on after a factory re-store due to a freeze up in the Safe Mode....

After shutting down my computer, the system said it would do an update and then shut down. The following day, I noticed the computer had not shut down and had a different log in screen. When I logged in, it was in the Safe Mode. I tried many options to get out of the Safe Mode and none worked. I finally did a factory re-store which got the computer back the regular operation. However, I now have no sound. The computer shows no sound devices are detected, despite the fact there are built-in speakers as well as an external speaker plugged into the sound port. What can I do to revive the

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.

PC freeze within 30sec of boot, works fine in safe mode

Hi there,

Having an issue with my Laptop, running win 10 pro.

Freezing in less than 30 secs of boot normal boot.Safe mode works fine where I have tried to run sfc now issue found.

So here is a quick list of what I have so far tried

• Boot to safe mode sfc /scannow no issue found
• Tried a clean boot(disable all no MS services) and reboot
• Sign in under a new user account
• Read logs but nothing seen freezing seem to not write any logs.
• Memory test passed
• chkdsk passed
• run windows repair off disk
• Sure there is more than I can not think of at the moment as my brain is ready to sleep
• System Restore
• Startup Repair

I am thinking it might be a driver based issue due to working fine when in safe mode but haven't updated any drivers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

An error message in the Store app of Windoes 10

Windows Store may experience issues due to a lot of factors. We suggest you try resetting your Store cache while your computer is in safe mode. Follow the steps below:

• Start your computer in safe mode with the steps
  here.
• Press the Windows logo key + X.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type in WSReset.exe, then hit enter.
