Windows 10: How do I get my task bar to unfreeze?

Sometimes when I'm running my HP laptop the taskbar will stop working, all of the icons are still there but it is impossible to interact with anything on the taskbar using alt-tab does not work for switching windows and using the trackpad to switch windows/desktops doesn't work either. I've had times where alt-tab does work but instead of the normal alt-tab screen it shows a basic low-res window with the icons of the windows I have open, instead of the normal one which shows the contents of the windows. I've tried restarting my computer, which fixes the problem temporarily, but it inevitably

Cannot modify Task Bar settings

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

• Right click on the Task Bar.
• Uncheck the option " Lock the Taskbar."

how to successfully pin files to the task bar

I use to be able to drag and drop files onto the task bar and they would reside withing the file list for that program. Since the recent upgrade it appears that I am not able to pin a file to the program on the task bar. Suggestions?
