Windows 10: How do I get notifications from my phone company email address?

Or any other email address.I have been informed that soon Windows Mail will be replaced with something called Outlook. I don't know how to explain what that is but when I chose to upgrade, it appeared to only allow me to use Hotmail. And please don't tell me it's not called Hotmail. Because I didn't like it, I went back to Windows Mail and refuse to upgrade until forced to.Are there ways to use other mail addresses that I just can't see?Specifically, when I get an email from any of the listed addresses, I get a notification on my computer in the lower right corner of the screen. I really need

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

Here is the step to remove that old email address.

Start typing an email address into the “To” field. As soon as you see the old email address being recommended as one of the potential candidates, use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of suggestions. Once you highlight the old email address, type the delete key. In many cases, this will actually remove the entry not only from the current list of suggestions but from future suggestions as well. You may even find that as you mouse over the drop-down list the highlighted item will have an “x” to explicitly allow you to delete it.

Just do this step and your good to go.

Your phone company email settings are out of date

Windows Email has a list of accounts. The last one is my phone company. And no, I'm not going to change to Outlook, though apparently they will force me to at some point and that's when I will do it.

This started after my phone company sent me an email saying I was required to change my password. I did, and then I started getting a notification on my computer that my phone company settings are out of date. At one point, clicking on the phone company gave me an error message "We couldn't access this account: [phone company]. You might need to update your password or give the account permission to sync to this device."

I'm still getting the notifications. There is a triangle with an exclamation point beside the phone company and it still gives me the message but I can see the emails.
