Windows 10: How do I get Pictures 'large icon' view to work?

I select 'Windows PC' -> I select 'Pictures' -> I select a folder -> in 'View' I select 'Large icons'My icons do not show up! I have no idea what each picture is until I click each one individually. How do I resolve this?

Files & Folders View as medium or large Icons

To assist you better, we would suggest that you try to follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Once you are viewing a folder, right click an empty space within the File Explorer window and select View from the dialogue menu, then choose Large or any icon you wanted to use. Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys on the keyboard to
  change your View settings:

• CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large
• CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List
• CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details
• CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles
• CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content

3. Once you have the view set, you can make it the default view for

every folder.

4. Click Apply, then click OK.

Windows Explorer Extra Large Icons View Not Working

Jenith, I think you meant on step "c", Now select extra large icons.

Well, that's exactly what I'm doing and it's not working. Like I said in my original post, when I choose "extra large icons" the only thing that happens is that there's a much bigger white space separating/around the icons, but the actual
icons are the same size as in the large icon view.

 

Done with Large Icon View?

Hello, I'll start with a question. Is the Large Icon view for folders not the worst view in the history of computing? How is it that folders, sub-folders, desktop folders and their sub-folders to have by "Default" the Large Icon view in Windows 10?

This has been around for a while, and I don't understand how no-one else doesn't think its so annoying to have to constantly change a folders' view to Detailed or List. Recently I was going through some folders just trying to understand how the folder views
work and honestly its a big jumbled mess. Some folders have the icon view, some the details view, all randomly. Some I can change and they will stay that way, and others will revert back to the Large Icon view on reboot. And for people that say "oh you can
change it, there are settings.." well guess what, those settings for some reason like I said are just not permanent. Also why Is there not a master setting I could easily go to and set all folders on my computer to Detailed view, permanently? Could it be that
easy to have a setting like that so I wouldn't have to post this?

In my opinion it shouldn't even be an option to have that view in any other folder besides maybe My Pictures. But somehow its the Default view and its really really annoying.
