Windows 10: How do I get rid of the administration rights- username & password.

My company went out of business a year ago, but the administrator account is active. I can not add any apps because I do not have the admin username & password. I have tried to do a factory reset but when I get to the recovery and go to push the get started button it asks for the admin username and password. I have also tried to press shift while restarting but it gives me an option of reset pc/ advance options or turn off pc. When I select the reset pc/ advance options it gives me six more options including Startup repair.

Forget hidden Administrator Account Password-Windows 10

Thank you for providing the details. You can change the password of the hidden admin account by following the steps below.

• Press Windows key and type "cmd".
• Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
• Type this command: net user "UserName" "NewPassword".
  
  Type "administrator" in the "Username" and type the password that you want in the
  "NewPassword".
• Retype the password that you've created and close the Command Prompt.

These steps are intended for local accounts. And since the hidden admin account is considered a local account, you can apply these steps.

Windows 10 Security and usernames. Unable to install anything asking for administrator password

I suggest you to login with administrator account on your computer and then try to install the application and check.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to follow the instructions provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows Logo key + X key.
• Select Control Panel.
• Go to User Accounts.
• On right hand panel of the window, click on
  Manage your credentials.
• Select Windows Credentials.
• Under Generic Credentials, expand "MicrosoftAccount:user=<username> (where <username> should be your user name)
  
• Click on Edit option.
• Change the password and click on save option.

To which "this" are you referring?
- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.
