Windows 10: How do I get rid of the useless junk on the lock screen asking if I have seen the news and...

I want this rubbish gone, if possible, as it ruins look of lock screen. And I hate being nagged for useless junk - a news quiz!?!? Seriously? Taskbar News notifications are off. There appears to be no setting for this anywhere. Please let me get rid of this nonsense?

One of the possible reasons why your laptop is not asking if you like the spotlight choice might be because the Windows spotlight is not set as your lock screen background. To address this concern, we suggest enabling Windows spotlight as your lock screen
background. To do so, follow these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Personalization and then select Lock screen.
• Under Background, click on the drop down menu and make sure to click on Windows spotlight.

Getting rid of Lock Screen?

No need to mess with the registry yourself.

You can use the .reg from from step 4 in Option 5 of the tutorial below to disable require sign-in on wakeup.

Setting the timeout for Lock Screen

• Press Windows + I and select personalization.
  
• Select Lock screen.
  
  
• Select the Screen Timeout setting.
  
• Select the time of timeout you need and check.
