Windows 10: How do I get Security Intelligence Update to properly install?

For months, my computer has been trying to download and install the Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 Version 1.39X.35.0. It gets to about 66% and then conks out. Each time I turn on my computer I have to wait for this process to complete and it never does. If I cannot get it to download - how do I stop it from trying to update?

1. Check Windows Update Settings: Make sure that your Windows Update settings are configured to receive updates for Security Intelligence.
   
   • Go to "Settings" > "Windows Update."
     
   • Click on "Advanced options."
     
   • Ensure that the option for "Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows" is enabled.
     
2. Check Windows Security Settings: Ensure that Windows Security is set up correctly and not preventing the Security Intelligence update from being offered.
   
   • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Security."
     
   • Click on "Virus & threat protection."
     
   • Under "Threat definitions," click on "Check for updates."
     
3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and resolve update-related issues.
   
   • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
     
   • Under "Get up and running," click on "Windows Update" and run the troubleshooter.

you will only need the top one in the list (Windows Defender Antivirus for Windows 10)
