    How do I get System Restore to ACTUALLY work in Windows 10?


    I really want to be able to use system restore I do have backup disks but I am an old timer I'm already familiar with it and really just want my windows settings saved like system restore is supposed to do. It is enabled for C: and does make restore points but they do nothing... Please help Edit: My Windows 10 version is: 10.0.19042 Build 19042

    Windows XP PRO error after restore

    System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    windows xp duel boot with vista restore points

    Turn off system restore in XP altogether...or if you dont want to, AsRocks suggestion should work :\
