Windows 10: How do I get the correct time to be used for created and modified timstamps on saved files?

When I save files on my Windows 10 using office or adobe save / print to pdf, some files get timestamped 11 and half hours in the past!I'm in the Pacific Time Zone. Windows 10 fully up to date using latest installed MS Office and Adobe apps. Logged into MS Office account.This has been a chronic issue that's been happening with all prior versions as far as I can remember - but don't know when it started - at least a year ago though. Finally tired of it. Messes up trying to search based on time and date or ordering files by date/time to look for the latest or prior versions etc. Very frustrati

File Explorer Date Created and Modified not always correct

Hi,

The File Explorer may have encountered a system conflict that caused this issue. For us to start with initial troubleshooting, we'd like to know more information, kindly answer the following questions:

• Which build and version of Windows 10 do you have?
• In File Explorer, what does it indicate in the Date column? Does it show Date Modified or Date Created? (right click the Date Modified section at the top, which are the ones that has a checkmark?)
• Which troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise - Date Modified is displaying date and time the file was opened instead of when the file was last saved

Hi,

I have recently noticed an issue with the Date Modified data. I am using Excel and Word 365 in Windows 10.

Steps Taken:

1. Launch Excel 365.

2. Click on OPEN.

3. Review the list of files displayed under Recent.

Expected Results:

The file I was working on at the end of the day is displayed at the top of the list with a last modified date and time of at 23/03/2023 17:46 (this is when the file was last saved).

Actual Results:

The file has a last modified date of 23/03/2023 15:58.

When I open the file the date modified updates to the current date and time even though the file has not been saved i.e. the date and time the file was ACCESSED.

Account: displays Version 2302 (Build 16130.20306)

About Excel: displays Version 2302 (Build 16.0.16130.20298) 64 bit.

This has nothing to do with the Regional Settings.

I have cleared the Windows Explorer privacy cache.

 

Adjust for daylight savings time automatically and modified file dates file explorer

So DST just changed Sunday morning. Had a user notice a modified date and time on a file jumped ahead an hour. File created on 11/5 at 4:20 now appears with time of 5:20 in the file explorer. (even though time went back an hour). Started playing with time settings and when I turn "Adjust for daylight savings time automatically" off, the time then reflects the 4:20 mod time. If you use cmd prompt, no matter how the Adjust for daylight savings time automatically is set, the time is correct at 4:20. I checked this on a Win7 pro sp1 box and the same thing happens with the time modified in explorer. Checked this on an XP box, the date does not change with the Adjust for daylight savings time automatically set one way or the other. Anyone understand how and why on this?
