    How do I get the crypto folder that encrypts everything using TPM 2 back?


    So I deleted the crypto folder in local low thinking it was a crypto virus. I was wrong and I deleted my Tpm's function to encrypt. How can I get that file back? I've tried system restore and reinstalling a fresh copy of windows.

    I accidently deleted the crypto folder without knowing it was an important file! How can I recover it?

    Could I also somehow create a new Crypto folder for the TPM to use for encryption? If so how?

    Encrypting a folder

    Hello Bill,

    To encrypt a folder in Windows 10 Home, follow these steps:

    • Right-click the folder you want to encrypt and click Properties.
    • On the General tab, click Advanced.
    • Under Compress or Encrypt attributes, click Encrypt contents to secure data.
    • Click OK then Apply to save the changes.

    Need help on whether to clear TPM on not

    Sounds like it was using the tpm to encrypt the main drive. Certainly not the norm. Also, the fact that you could not log in suggests the computer may be illegally repackaged or stolen.
