    How do I get the MSG command working on CMD?


    Good Afternoon EST,I've been trying to get at this issue for a while, I have an issue where a coworker on my LAN hardwired is able to use the msg command and message me with no issues however I can't seem to message him back. I've checked his computer name computername confirmed computer name is correct and I am able to ping his computer with no issues. However I either get a message stating user does not exist or is disconnected. error 1722 error 5 or * does not exist .the commands I've been using:MSG * /SERVER:computername /TIME:60 "test"MSG /SERVER:computername * /TIME:60 "test"M

    Opening a .MSG file created by Outlook 365

    Because the apps I had tried and the one I had installed, appeared on the list of possible Apps in the list for opening MSG files, I thought that repairing Outlook might work. So I tried the repair option as Sheltieuk had suggested. When I then tried Start – Defaults afterwards and looked to see what was available to open MSG files, Outlook had appeared on the list! Selected that and it worked.

    For once I have posed not only a question but an answer!!

    How do I get the MSG command working on CMD?

    MSG Command on CMD result Error 5 getting session names

    I have 2 computer connected over LAN. Both has windows 10 pro version 1607. I open cmd from 1 computer and try to use message command like this :

    Lenovo-pc is other computer name. The command result Error 5 getting session names

    How to fix this problem ?

    • I already set the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\AllowRemoteRPC from 0 to 1 and already restart.
    • I already run cmd with level admin.
    • Network discovery, file and printer sharing on private and public network already TURN ON on both computer.
