Windows 10: How do I get the previous and fast forward buttons to be not grayed out? They were working...

Fast forward with the 6085 ?

Sarah - I have the N95, so won't be able to test this out (because on the N95 you switch to media mode - slide the phone down - and you have fast forward buttons accessible to you !) but have you tried using the big directional button, and pressing right
or left to see whether this fast forwards (or rewinds) ?

I'm also not sure of exactly where I heard what I am about to tell you, but it won't damage your phone to try what I am about to suggest, but I recall someone telling me you could use either the 3,6 or 9 on your keypad to fast forward (although this was on
the N series of phones ... and I never got it to work !) but I think it'd also be worth a go in your case too ... as it won't break anything if it doesn't work.

If none of these methods work, then I don't think there's a way unfortunately.

Fast forward in Media Player on a phone with a trackball

I don't think you'll be able to program the trackball to fast forward through songs, but you can assign a key on the keyboard to fast forward, as follows:

• Open up Windows Media Player on the phone
• Tap Menu > Options > Buttons tab
• Scroll down to the Fast Forward option and press the key you'd like to designate for this.

Music player with fast forward/rewind

Not sure about your particular phone but on others, the next / previous track select button allows fast forward / bakwards if held down. IT depends on the format of the sound file though.
