Windows 10: How do I get Windows 11 File Explorer to work properly?

When I search in Windows 11 File Explorer using a key word, it fails to bring up many recent files, even when the word is one I routinely use in all sorts of documents. I've reviewed the prior responses here, but I can't find a solution.Yes, I've checked "All subfolders" and "File contents" in the search options, and the folders I'm searching are indexed.

Windows 11 File Explorer not showing external drive
