    How do I go about fixing error code 0x80070002?


    I'm trying to update my laptop, an HP to Windows 11, version 23H2 as it keeps asking me to.When I try to do this, it installs to 50% then seems to stop and say that it's failed. I've got little to no knowledge on how to fix this issue and I don't want to end up bricking and losing my data trying to do this myself. This isn't the first time this has happened although but I've chosen to ignore it in the past.I've read through other forums and help pages but I don't want to start doing something that could be solved simply. I've troubleshooted for the updates and have gotten a message that says W

    Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

    I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

    2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

    I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

    I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

    0x80070002 error code in windows update

    My windows 10 version is Home, 20H2. Build 19042.630I'm trying to download cumulative update KB4592438. I keep getting 0x80070002 error code.

    I also ran the windows troubleshooter and it says that it fixed the issue, but I still keep getting the same error. Here's the detailed report.
