Windows 10: How do I go from Windows Education Edition to Windows 11 Home without resetting all the...

About a week ago, I signed into Outlook with my school account. This triggered Windows to update its OS to Windows 11 Education. Realizing this, I have now removed my school account from Outlook, but do not know how to return to Windows 11 Home without resetting my PC. Coincidentally, my Windows 11 Home product key has disappeared purchased from Amazon, and I am under the impression that I will need to purchase a new one from Microsoft. That is okay; however, because my PC cannot find the original product key, the Media Creation Tool does not list Windows 11 Home as an option for installatio

Change from Windows 10 Education edition to Windows 10 Professional

Windows 10 Education is an academic edition of Windows 10 used in schools. Features like Cortana are removed because of the environment it is used in.

Windows 10 Pro Education builds on the commercial version of Windows 10 Pro and provides important management controls needed in schools. Windows 10 Pro Education is effectively a variant of Windows 10 Pro that provides education-specific default settings,

If you want to downgrade to the Windows 10 Pro edition, you will need to perform a clean install and you will need a unique product key to install it. The Windows 10 Pro Edu or Windows 10 Education key will not activate Windows 10 Pro.

If you don't have a license for Windows 10 Pro, you will either need to request it from the institution you got Windows 10 Education; or you will have to purchase a license for Pro, then perform a clean install.

Some questions on upgrading to Windows 11 Education Edition.

Recently I had a bit of a BSOD issue with my old Windows 11 Home laptop, so I wanted a fresh install of Windows 11.

My college website offers a Windows 11 Education edition key. I got it, mainly to use Bitlocker and ReFS.

My questions are:

a.) Can I keep Education edition on my laptop after I graduate?

b.) How long is my product key valid for?

c.) How many devices can I upgrade to Education edition with one key? I would like to update my desktop rig as well.

d.) Will I get access to new Education editions with new versions of Windows with this key?

e.) How do I downgrade back to Home edition if I so desire? It seems that I can default to home edition with my MS account on a new install without providing a key for it.

Changing from oem windows 10 pro edition to windows 10 education pro Edition

Because your computer wasn't purchased with a k-12 academic licenses through OEM partners, it cannot be turned into a Pro Education edition at no cost. Just like you said, you can manually change it, to strip down certain features to make it like the Pro Education edition (Not Education edition, but Pro Education, they are two different things). This is the way to do it without cost.

By disabling the features above, will that meet the needs? If not, then you will need to contact an academic partner to get an education license.
