Windows 10: How do I identify the device(s) connecting/disconnecting from my laptop?

I keep hearing the chimes for a device or devices being connected to my laptop. I'm also hearing the disconnect tones. Sometimes immediately after they connect, sometimes later. If I open Devices manager, I can see it refresh periodically, but I can't determine what is appearing/disappearing from the list.

Is this logged somewhere? The DeviceSetupManager Operatational log looked promising, but I don't think it's helpful. Is there somewhere else I should look?

Does it die slowing, like over time the connection degrades ?. Have you timed the disconnections or are they random ?.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

To remove a disconnected device from your Microsoft account follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Navigate to
   http://account.live.com
   
2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
   
3. Click on Devices.
   
4. You will see the list of devices connected with your account. Find the device that you want to remove.
   
5. Click on More actions and select,
   Remove laptop to remove the laptop.
   
6. Click on the check box I’m ready to remove this device
   and then click Remove.

How to disconnect and reconnect bluetooth devices in Windows 10?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Pair the Bluetooth device to the system.
• Right click on the Speaker icon in the System tray and select
  Playback Devices.
• Select the device and click on the drop down list next to Set default button.
• Select the option to connect and disconnect from the device.
