Windows 10: How do I increase my download speed on apps other than Steam?

I have been researching this issue on and off for a few months now but cannot for the life of me find a solution. For whatever reason when I try downloading a game for example on the Xbox app, Epic Games Store or even Ubisoft Connect, my max speed is never more than 7mbps. On Steam however, my download speed is always around 60mbps which is the actual amount that my ISP provides me. I don't understand why Steam is literally the only application on my pc that utilizes the speeds that I pay for. Increase Download speed?

If your average was 28 MB/s then you should have download 60GB in about 36 minutes. If the download took 2 hours that make the download speed only about 8.3 MB/s. Steam itself doesn't have a speed cap. However, the Steam servers will vary the download speeds depending upon how much traffic they currently have. I have 1200/35 Mbps Internet. My laptop has 802.11ax wireless. Running Speedtest gives 875/44 Mbps. I just downloads World of Warships (53.4 GB) from Steam. The average download speed was about 85 MB/s. The download completed in about 11 minutes.

 

Throttled download speeds for steam/gog.

I recently bought a new pc running windows 11 (specs below).

I'm facing throttled download speeds for certain applications and I can't figure out why.

Speedtest is giving me 150Mbps down (max from my provider).

This speed seems to also be active when downloading windows/driver updates.

When downloading anything from steam/gog (maybe other things, haven't tested a lot), the download speeds seems to be limited to 10Mbps (in app + performance tab in task manager).

Things I have checked:

• I never had this issue with my previous pc using the same cable/switch/router.
  
• I have switched cables, connected to the router itself.
  
• I have checked the settings in steam/gog, no throttling active there.
  
• I have reïnstalled windows multiple times.
  
• I have reïnstalled gog/steam multiple times.
  
• I have tried a few network adapter drivers.

slow download speed except steam

My download speed is very slow when i want to download something from firefox or chrome (around 200kb/s)

But when i download games from steam it is much faster(1-2mb)

I already did speedtests but my steam download speed is much faster than the download speed in the speedtest?
