how do i install the most recent version of my intel display driver?

I haven't touched my laptop in a few years and I just went on to realize that I have a version of my driver that is from 2018. The version I have installed is version 24.20.100.6025 from 4/25/2018. I have went online and downloaded the driver assistant but its saying everything is up to date and it doesn't show any problem with my display driver. Even in my device manager I go to the display driver and hit update, it then says that I have the most recent driver installed. I have no idea how to fix it. This just adds on to the list of problems I've had since picking this laptop back up. I'm als

    • Do you receive any error code or error message?
    • What is the make and model of the pc?
I would like to inform you that, you need to login to the PC using the Microsoft Account, to check, if that helps.

Also, I suggest you to install any pending updates on the PC to check, if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the PC and login to the either administrator account or the Microsoft account to check, if that helps.

Then refer to the Microsoft article link below and check, if the issue still persists.

  3. Intel HD Graphics Display Driver Windows 10

    Hi Harpinder;

First, I want to thank you for replying and offering a possible solution to this problem. It is appreciated.

Second, don't assume that I didn't follow instructions or that I don't use web search (google/bing). I do. I use it heavily.

Third, the solution and instructions given did NOT work for me. No matter what I did - including extracting the Intel drivers and pointing the update drivers action to the extracted folder - I could not get the update to install. It always gave me the
"you have the latest drivers" response. However, you did prompt me to think about another process I might try...

Forth, what did work for me is this...

    • Download the Intel HD5000 drivers from this location. It is OK just to download the exe. But do NOT run the installer... just save it: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25489/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen
    • Open Device Manager
    • Open properties for Display Adapters > Intel HD Graphics 5000
    • Click Driver tab and then Uninstall button.
    • In the uninstall confirmation box, click the checkbox to "Delete the driver software for this device"
    • Click OK to proceed with the delete. The system will need to restart, and when it does it will come up with the Microsoft Basic Display driver listed in the Device Manager > Display Adapters.
    • Do NOT run scan for new hardware.
    • Run the Intel HD5000 driver installer that was downloaded in step #1.

Those are the steps that worked for me. It would be great to hear feedback on the steps that worked for others.

  4. how do i install the most recent version of my intel display driver?

Intel Display Driver 26.20.100.7325 Update Error

    SOLVED

I had the same problem on a Vivobook and here is the solution from Intel; I now have 26.10.100.8336 installed and the problem has gone away. It is to do with DCH drivers not being able to install over non-DCH drivers.

If you receive an OEM error when installing graphics driver 26.20.100.8141 or newer, follow these instructions:

    1. Verify that your system has a supported processor generation such as a 6th Generation Intel Processor or higher. To confirm your processor generation, see how to identify your processor here.
    2. Verify that your system has a supported operating system (OS) version, which is Windows 10, 64-bit, version 1709 (also known as "Redstone 3") or higher. To confirm your OS version, see how to identify your OS here.
    3. Before starting, download the latest DCH graphics driver from the Download Center and save it in your disk drive.
    4. Disconnect the internet connection so Windows Update won't automatically reinstall a previous OEM driver.
    5. Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Windows Start icon.
    6. Click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.
    7. Expand the Display adapters section.
    8. Right-click the Intel Graphics entry and select Uninstall device.
      • Important: Check "Delete the driver software for this device."
    9. Right-click anywhere in Device Manager and select Scan for hardware changes.
    10. If there are no older drivers stored in the system, the graphics controller in Device Manager should now be listed as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". If not, repeat steps 4 through 8.
    11. Restart the system to complete the uninstall process.
    12. Install the latest DCH graphics driver (downloaded in step 3).
    13. Restart the system and reconnect the internet connection.
    14. Verify the driver is installed in Device Manager.
      1. Double-click the installed Display Adapter.
      2. Click the Driver tab.
      3. Verify the Driver Version and Driver Date are correct.
    15. Select the Windows Start icon and click the Settings Gear icon to navigate to Update and Security.
    16. Select Windows Update and click Check for updates in case there are OEM customizations to reinstall.
