    How do I know if an email message or URL is safe?


    I know the usual warnings that are too vague to answer the question, and I'm familiar with the usual indicators of fraudulent senders and URLs. No need to repeat all that here. The question here is: Is there a way to confirm that a message is legitimate and is there a way to confirm that a URL is safe? For example, I received the message pictured here today. As you see, it says I've won an iPhone. And as you see, the sender address looks legitimate. The reply link begins "https://urlshortener.teams.microsoft.com/8DC...", which also could be legitimate. But the offer of a free iPhon
