    How do I know that my laptop is completely safe from Trojan Kryptik?


    Hello, I have been having difficulty in identifying whether the trojan that is detected by windows security is still present in my laptop because I tried scanning using the windows security and it reports that there are no new threats and it says that the "threat was removed or restored" but I still am anxious since the protection history states that the remediation of the trojan was incomplete. If the trojan is in fact still present in my computer could you please help me in removing it because I tried scanning with windows security and malwarebytes and they both report that there are no thre

    Virus Trojan:32/Wacatac.DC!ml not completely remediated on Windows PC

    One more time, looking for help on this. I go through the extensive list of steps above, including running script, adaware, cleaner and emisoft. No problems noted. I make sure the temp file and WD Service files are empty. I shut down the computer. In the morning I start up and a notification says WD has blocked wacatack trojan. The time listed is the time I shut down.

    Anyone?

    How do I know that my laptop is completely safe from Trojan Kryptik? [​IMG]


    I believe I may have a malicious threat called VulkanRT. Above is the list of files in a folder called VulkanRT. I have not clicked on any of them. A site called Malwareless lists this as a Trojan. Even though the files are all dated 9/13/2017, the C:/ dir lists them as being obtained on 1/4/2018.

    I don't know how I got it, but I believe I should remove it. It is not listed as an Add-On in Chrome or Firefox. This is a stand-alone computer, not linked to a LAN.

    Does anyone know what I should be doing at this point? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
