Windows 10: How do I know what's running on my computer?

Task Manager is a helpful tool to see what Windows is doing. But some apps don't show up there. Or if they do, I'm not looking in the right place. I sometimes receive notifications from apps when I don't find any evidence of them being active. The apps sending these notifications are benign. But the fact that things are running on my computer that I don't know about worries me. Is there a Windows professional out there who'll take the time to explain this?

To run a command prompt as administrator, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Type cmd on the search bar/Cortana at the lower-left side your screen.
• Right-click Command Prompt then select Run as administrator.

I suggest you to perform below mentioned troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select View all on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Click on Network Adapter.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
  

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2: Update driver manually.

I suggest you to update the Network Adapter from the Device Manager.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right click on Start button and click on Device Manager.
  
• 
  Extend Network adapters driver from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the Network driver and click on
  Update driver Software.
  

Check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Sorry for the late response. If the above steps did not work, let's try another troubleshooting step. You can try the suggestion by Linley Meslier above and see if it will resolve the issue. If not, try resetting Windows Store cache. Follow the steps below:

• Click on Cortana.
• Type WSreset.exe, then click it.
• The Store app and a command prompt will open without any messages and it will automatically close when the process is done.
• Restart the computer.

After doing the steps, try running Windows Store again and see if you can do an update.
