    Problem with Snipping Tool when trying to copy from a downloaded image from a bank

    With Windows 8, I was able to use the Snipping Tool to copy a selected area from a downloaded image from my bank, which I could then paste onto a WORD document.

    However, with Windows 10, this has become impossible to do.

    With Windows 10, when I select the specific area which I want the Snipping Tool to copy, the entire screen on my desktop goes grey.

    The Snipping Tool no longer works properly with Windows 10.

    Why does Windows 10 not support the Snipping Tool anymore in the way that Windows 8 did ?

    Snipping tool for Windows 10

    I want my snipping tool keyboard shortcut back. Win 7 was the Windows key and S. Very convenient but now Win 10 has it pulling up Cortana which is unhelpful. How do I get the Windows key and S to be my snipping tool keyboard shortcut again. I already
    have Snipping tool pinned to my Quick Launch.

    You mean you cannot find it under alphabet W > Windows Accessories ?

    Snipping Tool is supposed to be there.

    Snipping tool is one of the Windows accessories. It can NOT be deleted or uninstalled.

    If you need a Free screen capture program urgently , try Picpick.
    I have been using it for 3 years now. It is a whole lot more sophisticated than Snipping Tool. Many features you will appreciate.
    It is known as the "poor man SnagIt ".

    You are welcome.

    Yes. not simple to find when MS groups some of them under certain categories.

    When you see a folder icon in the All apps list, that indicates something is inside.
    Open them. Particularly those under alphabet W.
    You'd be surprised what you may find inside the folder.
