Windows 10: How do I login into a work or school account as an admin without my 2FA device?

Hello,I'm sure this is a standard question. I'm the admin for a tenancy currently not used, so we do not have a subscription attached. I've just got a new phone and found that my 2FA accounts in the Microsoft authenticator were not backed up.I cannot understand how to raise a support ticket - as everything asks me to log in, which is my whole problem.What's the right next step?

thanks again for the detailed replies. - - - Updated - - - i'm a bit confused about the bitwarden site, Field Guide to Two-Step Login | Bitwarden Help Center they suggest using Authy themselves, lol, but it seems to suggest the 2FA 6-digit code is only available on their mobile app? or do they mean you just need it on the phone to scan the QR?

In Windows, you should never set a school account to administrator on your PC because when you leave the school, they close the account and you will be locked out of your PC.

Open the Settings App.

Go to Accounts.

Select Your Info, do you see your own personal Microsoft Account listed there?

Select Access Work or School, is the school Email listed there?

 

Managing 2FA Trusted Devices

When I signed in after turning on 2 factor authentication, 2FA, for my Microsoft account I was prompted with an option to trust my device and avoid having to enter the 2FA code when you login to my MS account or MS apps. My questions are 1) how do you determine which of your devices are trusted and 2) how do you un-trust a device and force the use of 2FA for login. I am using Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2.
