Windows 10: How do I make my audio work properly again

I have tried deleting and reinstalling every audio driver possible and have gone through so many different threads trying to find someone else who has had my particular problem and nothing has been working. My headphones work 100% fine on another computer but out of nowhere they stopped working on my main desktop. They appear on my system but as soon as audio is played through the headphones they completely disappear to only reappear within 5 seconds of them disappearing. They flicker in and out on device manager. Please can someone help me figure out how to fix this issue nothing I seem to tr

1. Check Audio Device Connections:
   
   • Ensure that your audio devices (e.g., headphones, speakers) are properly connected to your computer or device. If you're using external speakers or headphones, make sure they are plugged in correctly and powered on.
     
2. Audio Output/Input Selection:
   
   • Verify that the correct audio output/input device is selected in your system settings. In Windows, right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings" to check the output/input device.
     
3. Update Audio Drivers:
   
   • Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio problems. Check the manufacturer's website for your computer or sound card to download and install the latest audio drivers.
     
4. Run Audio Troubleshooter (Windows):
   
   • In Windows, you can use the built-in audio troubleshooter to diagnose and potentially fix audio problems. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Sound" > "Troubleshoot."
     
5. Check Audio Settings in Applications:
   
   • Ensure that audio is not muted or set to low volume within the specific applications or media players you're using.

Audio not working

AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

Hi,

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

Step 5:

Restart PC
