Windows 10: How do I make my laptop stop setting my 2 monitors to duplicate?

I have a Windows 8 laptop upgraded to Windows 10. I'm using a HDMI extender to connect 2 monitors to the laptop, but it won't let me set them to extend and it won't detect the other monitor either. I've tried 2 different HDMI extenders, and both of them did the same thing. What should I do differently?

I suggest you to change the settings to Extended Monitor and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps:

• Right Click any ware of the Desktop, and launch Personalization.
• Go to dual monitor settings under personalization, and change it Extended Monitor.

Problems with setting up 3 monitors 1 is the laptop screen 2 of them are seperate.

Hi there, I have problems with setting up 3 monitors on my laptop. 1 of the screens is my laptop screen, 2 are Benq and Samsung. it extendes 1 and 2 but they count the 3rd monitor as 2 so they duplicate it. how can I make it not duplicate it? Please. my
laptop is a gaming alienware. thank you.

 

Multiple Monitors Duplicate

Windows 10 Pro 20H2 build 19042.844 On Dell Laptop with Dell Docking Station.
Two Monitors using HDMI input, one from laptop and 2nd one from Docking Station.
When I select DUPLICATE on 2 and 3 it only Duplicates on 2 and on 3 it Extends.
